How to Apply for a Job on Punjab Jobs Online

The screenshot you provided shows the Punjab Jobs Online homepage. Follow the procedure below from account creation to final application submission.

Step 1: Create an Account

On the top-right corner of the homepage, click REGISTER. You will be taken to the registration page. Enter the required information, such as:

  • Full Name
  • Email Address
  • Password
  • Confirm Password
  • Captcha/verification, if required
Important: Use an active email address that you regularly access because you may need it for account activation and future communication.

After completing the registration form, submit it.

Step 2: Activate Your Account

After registration, check your email inbox for an account activation email from Punjab Jobs Online.

  • If you receive an activation email: Open the email → Click the activation link.
  • If you cannot find it: Check your Spam/Junk folder, check other email folders, wait a few minutes and try again.

Do not create multiple accounts simply because the activation email is delayed.

Step 3: Log In

Return to the Punjab Jobs Online website. Click LOGIN and enter your registered email and password, then log in to your account.

Step 4: Complete Your Candidate Profile

After logging in, complete your personal profile/online resume before applying for jobs. Provide accurate information based on your official documents.

Personal Information

Depending on the fields available on the portal, you may need to provide: Full Name, Father's Name, CNIC, Date of Birth, Gender, Mobile Number, Email Address, Residential Address, and Domicile.

Important: Make sure your Name + CNIC + Date of Birth + Domicile match your official documents. Do not enter incorrect or fictional information.

Step 5: Add Your Educational Qualifications

Go to the Education/Qualification section of your profile and enter your educational information accurately. For example:

  • Degree: BS Software Engineering
  • University/Institute: Institute of Space Technology
  • Status: Current/Completed — whichever is actually applicable
  • Start Date: Your actual enrollment date
  • Expected Completion: Your actual expected graduation date

You may also need to add previous qualifications such as Intermediate, Matriculation, Diploma, or other degrees/certifications if requested by the portal.

Important for students: If you are currently pursuing your BS Software Engineering degree, do not mark it as completed. When applying for a specific job, carefully check whether the vacancy accepts Current students, Final-year students, Appearing candidates, Fresh graduates, or requires a completed bachelor's degree.

Step 6: Add Your Experience

If you have professional experience, enter it accurately. You may need to provide: Organization/Company, Job Title, Start Date, End Date, Responsibilities, and Relevant experience.

If you have no professional experience: Do not create fake employment experience. Instead, if the portal provides separate sections, add Internships, Training, Relevant projects, or Certifications.

For example: Project Gym Inventory Management System (Technologies: HTML, CSS, JavaScript, PHP, MySQL). Key Work: Developed frontend interface, Implemented CRUD functionality, Integrated MySQL database, Developed backend functionality. However, do not present an academic project as professional employment experience.

Step 7: Add Your Technical Skills

Add skills that you genuinely possess. For a Software Engineering profile, relevant examples could include:

  • Programming: Python, C++, JavaScript
  • Web Development: HTML, CSS, JavaScript, PHP
  • Databases: MySQL, SQL Server
  • Software Engineering Concepts: Object-Oriented Programming, Data Structures, Database Management Systems, CRUD Operations, APIs
  • Tools: Git, GitHub, Visual Studio Code

Only list technologies that you can confidently discuss or demonstrate during an interview.

Step 8: Upload Your CV

If the portal provides a CV/resume upload option, upload your latest professional CV. A professional filename would be: Muhammad_Ijaz_Software_Engineering_CV.pdf

Your CV should ideally contain: Full Name, Contact Information, LinkedIn Profile, GitHub Profile, Education, Technical Skills, Projects, Internships/Experience, Certifications, and Relevant Achievements. Keep the CV concise and relevant to the position you are applying for.

Step 9: Search for Jobs

Return to the homepage. You will see the search section: Looking for... Enter Software Engineer then click the Search 🔍 button.

You can also search for related positions such as: Software Developer, Junior Software Engineer, Programmer, Web Developer, IT Officer, Computer Programmer, System Engineer, Software Support, or IT Developer. This is useful because government organizations may use different job titles for similar technical positions.

Step 10: Use the Department Filter

The second field on your screenshot is Departments. You can use this filter if you want jobs from a particular government department. If you do not have a specific department in mind, leave the filter broad and search all relevant departments.

Step 11: Select the Location

The third field is Location. Choose your preferred location if the portal provides the option (For example: Lahore, Rawalpindi, Islamabad, Faisalabad, Multan, or Other available locations). If you are willing to work anywhere in Punjab, keep the location filter broad.

Step 12: Open the Job Advertisement

After searching, you will see the available vacancies. Click the relevant job title. This will open the complete job advertisement/details page. Do not immediately click Apply. First read the complete advertisement.

Step 13: Check the Eligibility Criteria

This is one of the most important steps. Before applying, verify all requirements:

  1. Educational Qualification: Check whether the vacancy accepts BS Software Engineering, BS Computer Science, BS Information Technology, Computer Engineering, or Other relevant degrees. Your degree must match the requirements specified in the advertisement.
  2. Experience Requirement: If one year of experience is mandatory and you do not have it, you may not be eligible.
  3. Age Limit: Check the specified minimum and maximum age. Also check whether any government relaxation is available.
  4. Domicile: Some Punjab government vacancies require a specific domicile. Read the advertisement carefully.
  5. Gender: If the advertisement specifies eligibility for Male, Female, or Both, make sure you meet the requirement.
  6. Required Skills: Check the technical and professional requirements.
  7. Number of Vacancies: Check how many positions are available.
  8. Application Deadline: Most importantly, check the Last Date to Apply. Never assume the deadline based on when you found the advertisement.

Step 14: Apply for the Position

If you meet the eligibility criteria, click Apply for this Job. The portal will use information from your candidate profile/resume to process the application. Before proceeding, make sure your profile is complete and accurate.

Step 15: Complete Any Additional Application Questions

The system may ask additional questions related to the position. Answer every question truthfully. For example: Years of Experience (Enter your actual experience), Qualification (Enter your actual qualification/status), Domicile (Select your actual domicile), CNIC (Enter your actual CNIC information). Never provide false information just to satisfy an eligibility requirement.

Step 16: Review Your Application

Before clicking the final submission button, carefully review everything. Final Checklist:

  • ✅ Full Name, CNIC, Mobile Number, Email Address, Date of Birth, Domicile
  • ✅ Education, Experience, Technical Skills
  • ✅ CV, Required Documents
  • ✅ Eligibility Criteria, Application Deadline

If everything is correct, proceed to the final submission.

Step 17: Submit the Application

Click SUBMIT APPLICATION. Wait until the portal confirms that your application has been successfully submitted. Do not close the browser immediately after clicking Submit. Make sure you receive a successful-submission confirmation.

Step 18: Save Your Application Details

After successful submission, save any information provided by the portal, such as Application Number, Tracking Number, Reference Number, Job ID, or Application Status. Take a screenshot or save the confirmation page/PDF if available. This information may be required later for application tracking, written tests, interviews, or document verification.
