Why Punjab Police?

Punjab Police is the largest provincial police force in Pakistan, responsible for law enforcement and maintaining public order across Punjab — Pakistan's most populous province.

Punjab Police conducts massive recruitment drives, hiring thousands of officers at a time. For officer-level posts (ASI, SI, DSP), the Punjab Public Service Commission (PPSC) is frequently the recruitment and testing authority, while Constable and lower-rank recruitment may follow a different process entirely.

PPSC for Officer Posts

For many officer-level positions (ASI, SI, DSP), you must apply through the Punjab Public Service Commission (PPSC) at ppsc.gop.pk. PPSC conducts the written test, and you must pay their application fee.

Not All Posts Use PPSC

Do not assume that every Punjab Police vacancy is applied for through PPSC. Constable and some other recruitment campaigns can use a completely different recruitment process or portal. Always follow the specific official advertisement.

Step-by-Step Recruitment Process

Follow these 11 steps to correctly navigate the Punjab Police / PPSC recruitment pipeline:

Step 1 — Check the official Punjab Police website

Open punjabpolice.gov.pk and look for Jobs, Careers, Recruitment, Advertisement, or Recruitment Notices.

Step 2 — Check the latest job advertisement

The advertisement will tell you exactly where and how to apply. Check: Job title, BPS/scale, Qualification, Age limit, Gender, Domicile, Physical requirements, Number of vacancies, Last date, and the Application method.

Step 3 — For PPSC-recruited positions, open PPSC

Go to the Punjab Public Service Commission (PPSC) website. PPSC conducts recruitment for many Punjab Government positions, including certain Punjab Police officer posts.

Step 4 — Go to "Jobs" on PPSC

On the PPSC website, open Jobs → Advertisement and look for the relevant Punjab Police vacancy. Also check Upcoming Jobs if the position has been announced but applications have not yet opened.

Step 5 — Open the advertisement

Read the complete PPSC advertisement. Pay special attention to: Eligibility, Age, Qualification, Domicile, Application fee, Closing date, Written test syllabus, and Physical requirements.

Step 6 — Apply Online through PPSC

If eligible, click Apply Online and complete the application. You will need: CNIC, Personal information, Education details, Contact information, Domicile information, and a Photograph.

Step 7 — Pay the application fee

PPSC requires an application fee. Follow the exact payment instructions shown by PPSC. Do not pay through any unofficial channel.

Step 8 — Submit the application

Review everything carefully and submit before the closing date. Save your Application Number / Receipt.

Step 9 — Download your admission information

When PPSC announces the written test, check the PPSC website for your Admission Certificate / Roll Number information.

Step 10 — Take the written test

Attend the PPSC written examination at the designated centre and time according to the instructions on your admission certificate.

Step 11 — Complete further selection stages

Depending on the position, you may face: Written examination, Physical test, Psychological assessment, Interview, Medical examination, and Final merit selection.
