Company Details
Why WAPDA / NTDC?
WAPDA (Water and Power Development Authority) and NTDC (National Transmission & Despatch Company, now NGC) are the backbone of Pakistan's water, hydro-power, and electricity transmission infrastructure.
Because these are massive government and public-sector organizations, the recruitment process operates differently than private corporations. Hiring is heavily regulated and often facilitated through third-party testing services like NTS or PTS depending on the specific government advertisement.
NTDC Restructuring Update (Important)
National Grid Company (NGC)
NTDC has been formally restructured and renamed as the National Grid Company of Pakistan Limited (NGC). When searching testing portals like NTS, do not only search for "NTDC." You must also search for "National Grid Company" or "NGC" to find active opportunities.
Step-by-Step Job Application Process
Follow these 12 critical steps to successfully navigate government recruitment for WAPDA and NGC:
Step 1 — Open the official WAPDA Careers page
Go to the official WAPDA Careers portal (link provided at the bottom of this guide).
Step 2 — Check the latest job advertisements
Look through the available Job Opportunities. WAPDA publishes the official advertisement and, in some cases, a direct Application Form directly on its website.
Step 3 — Open the advertisement
Download and read the advertisement carefully. You must verify: Job title, Qualification, Experience, Age limit, Number of vacancies, Provincial/regional quota, Application method, and the Last date to apply.
Step 4 — Check how the application must be submitted
This is important. Do not assume every WAPDA job uses NTS or PTS. The advertisement will tell you exactly whether you need to Apply directly to WAPDA, Apply through NTS, Apply through PTS, or Download and submit a physical form.
Step 5 — If the advertisement says NTS, open NTS
Go to the NTS Official Website, find the relevant WAPDA/NTDC/NGC project, and click Details / Apply. Applications are generally completed online when NTS is specified.
Step 6 — If it says PTS, open PTS
Go to the PTS Official Website, search for the relevant WAPDA vacancy, and follow the specific application instructions provided.
Step 7 — Fill out the application
Enter your Full name, CNIC, Contact information, Education, Experience, Domicile, and any other information explicitly requested in the advertisement.
Step 8 — Pay the application/test fee if required
If NTS or PTS requires a processing fee, download the fee challan and follow the payment instructions given for that specific vacancy.
Step 9 — Upload documents if required
Depending on the advertisement, you may need to upload or mail: CNIC, Photograph, Educational documents, Experience certificates, Domicile, and CV/resume. Only upload/send what the advertisement specifically requests.
Step 10 — Submit the application before the deadline
Make sure you submit it before the exact closing date and time. Late applications are strictly rejected by government testing agencies.
Step 11 — Download/keep your application proof
Save physical or digital copies of your: Application form, Tracking/application number, Fee payment receipt, Original Advertisement, and the Submitted application page.
Step 12 — Check the test/interview status
After applying, periodically check the relevant WAPDA/NTS/PTS website for updates on Eligible candidates, Roll number slips, Test dates, Test results, and Interview lists.
